Friday's Flowers: More than Foliage


As I walked through Paris, bundled up and head down in the drizzling rain, I came across a railing, an expanse of black wrought iron tipped with gold, protecting a church so ancient and foreboding, it must surely have been around since the beginning of time.

 Only its soft Fiddlehead finials, in perfect sentry formation, beckoned entry to the passerby.
